Product Care & Help Guide

Product Care & Help Guide

Bathroom environments can expose shelves and mounting components to moisture, steam, soap residue, toiletries and regular cleaning.

Proper installation and routine care can help maintain the appearance and condition of your S7Five Bathroom products. As materials, finishes and mounting systems vary between models, always review the relevant product page and follow the installation and care instructions supplied with your product.

1. Before Installation

Check the Product Instructions

Before installation, review the dimensions, mounting method, supplied components and any stated load capacity for your Bathroom Shelf. Do not exceed the maximum load stated on the relevant product page or in the supplied installation instructions.

Identify Your Wall Type

Bathroom walls may be constructed from brick, blockwork, plasterboard, tile or other materials. Use mounting hardware that is suitable for the wall construction, the product and the intended load. Fixings supplied with a product may not be suitable for every wall type. If you are unsure whether the supplied fixings are appropriate for your wall, seek advice from a suitably qualified installer before installation.

Check Before Drilling

Before drilling into a wall, check the intended mounting area for concealed electrical cables, water pipes or other services. Take particular care when drilling tiled bathroom surfaces. Use tools, drill bits and installation methods appropriate for both the tile and the underlying wall material. If you are uncertain about the position of concealed services or the suitability of the mounting surface, do not drill until the area has been properly assessed.

Keep the Shelf Level

Use a spirit level or other suitable measuring tool to check the shelf position before completing installation. Tighten fixings securely in accordance with the supplied instructions, but avoid excessive tightening that could damage brackets, finishes, glass components or the mounting surface.

2. Routine Cleaning & Maintenance

Regular Cleaning

Wipe Bathroom Shelf surfaces regularly using a soft, clean cloth. After exposure to significant moisture or water splashes, drying the surface can help reduce water marks, soap residue and mineral deposits.

Cleaning Products

For general cleaning, a soft cloth with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral cleaning solution may be suitable for many products. Cleaning requirements vary according to the material and finish. Always check any product-specific care instructions before applying a cleaning product. For glass shelf models, a suitable non-abrasive glass cleaner may be used where permitted by the product care instructions.

Products to Avoid

Unless specifically permitted by the product care instructions, avoid:

  • Abrasive scouring pads or steel wool
  • Abrasive cleaning powders
  • Concentrated bleach
  • Strong acidic or alkaline cleaners
  • Harsh descaling products
  • Cleaning tools that may scratch the surface

These products may damage, discolour or mark certain finishes, coatings, seals or surfaces. Where a cleaning product is being used for the first time, follow the cleaner manufacturer's instructions and consider testing it on a small, inconspicuous area where appropriate.

3. Material-Specific Care

Glass Shelf Models

Clean glass surfaces using a soft, lint-free cloth and a suitable non-abrasive glass cleaner where appropriate. If the product includes protective pads, gaskets, retaining fittings or cushioning components, check them periodically to make sure they remain correctly positioned. Do not continue using a glass shelf if the glass becomes cracked, chipped or otherwise damaged.

Matte, Painted & Powder-Coated Finishes

Clean with a soft damp cloth and dry the surface after cleaning. Avoid abrasive products or hard cleaning tools that may scratch, polish or otherwise alter the finish.

Brushed Metal Finishes

Use a soft cloth and wipe gently in the direction of the visible brushed finish where applicable. Drying the surface after cleaning can help reduce visible water and mineral marks.

Adhesive-Mounted Products

Where a Bathroom Shelf uses an adhesive mounting system, follow the product-specific preparation and curing instructions carefully. Do not load the shelf or expose the mounting area to water before the stated curing period has been completed.

4. Periodic Safety Checks

Periodically inspect your Bathroom Shelf and its mounting points. Check that:

  • The shelf remains securely attached to the wall.
  • Brackets and mounting components are not loose or visibly damaged.
  • Glass components are free from cracks or chips.
  • The shelf remains level and stable.
  • No supplied component has become detached or significantly worn.
  • The stated load capacity has not been exceeded.

If a shelf becomes loose, unstable, cracked or damaged, remove items from it and stop using it until the cause has been identified and corrected. Do not modify, drill, cut or alter structural components of the shelf unless the product instructions specifically permit it.

5. Product Specifications

Materials, finishes, mounting systems, supplied fixings, load capacities and moisture- or corrosion-resistant properties vary between Bathroom Shelf models.

Please refer to the individual product page and the instructions supplied with your order for specifications and care information relating to your particular product. Product-specific instructions take priority over the general recommendations in this guide.
